My name Mia and I am an independent Crochet Pattern Designer and Artist. I was born in southwest Sweden in 1988 where I later on earned a Diploma in Pattern Construction for Women’s Clothing (Art Collage Gothenburg), followed by a BA in Global Development Studies (University of Gothenburg). In 2014 I realized my dream of moving to warmer latitudes when I relocated to the beautiful Italian island Sardinia, Italy – the place I today refer to as home.
I founded Yarn and Style, my crochet pattern shop on Ravelry, in 2015 and the patterns that I created attracted instantly a lot of attention on social media with thousands of interactions thanks to their modern looks and innovative designs.
As an artist I like twisting ideas around and questioning the way crochet should be done, and as a designer I like mixing elegance and symmetry with playfulness and irregularities. I also believe that crochet should be joyful and relaxing rather than an endless counting of stitches and I keep this in mind when creating my patterns.
Looking forward, I now seek new opportunities as a freelance designer, excited to create crochet patterns for magazines and blogs etc. while I with Yarn and Style will keep focus on helping and inspiring creative women crochet stylish apparel and accessories that they will wanna wear everyday.
